Seamless sexual health service for Devon & Torbay
posted by: Susan Mills
As part of the new sexual health contract awarded by Devon County Council and Torbay Council, from July 1 2025, all sexual health services in Devon & Torbay (excluding Plymouth) will be managed by the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust through Devon Sexual Health.
The Torbay sexual health clinic will remain at Castle Circus Health Centre, and there will be no change to the service Torbay patients receive, or to the staff delivering the care.
The Royal Devon and South Devon Trusts have worked closely for over seven years and this change is set to bring several benefits.
One key improvement is a move for all clinics to a single Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. This means patients will be able to visit any of our sexual health clinics and receive continuous care, providing a seamless service across the region.
In addition, patients can now book appointments for Devon and Torbay clinics online, and this service will soon be extended to offer online sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and access to test results via a Patient Health Record system.
Devon Sexual Health remains committed to continually improving local care based on national guidelines and local needs.
