Outreach

Good sexual health should be available for all. In addition to its specialist teams, Devon Sexual Health also supports a dedicated outreach programme delivered through The Eddystone Trust.

Eddystone works across Devon and Torbay offering support and advice regarding sexual health and sexual well-being. Services include:

  • specialist HIV services.
  • rapid testing for HIV & Syphilis, providing a result within 20 minutes
  • self-test kits for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea.

The Eddystone Trust works closely with local communities, charities and support groups providing relevant information and resources to empower individuals to start conversations on all matters relating to sexual health and sexual well-being, and how to have the kind of sex you want whilst balancing maintaining good sexual health.

Eddystone can also provide training and workshops around themes such as holding healthy conversations about sex, healthy relationships and consent, contraception and STI screening and bespoke modules on Chemsex, and HIV and stigma ‘THRIVE.’

Our outreach programme aims to raise awareness of sexual health and sexual well-being,  and provides wider accessibility to sexual health services for those who may experience barriers to access, including those who may be at more risk of poor sexual health outcomes.

Everyone has sexual health needs. The Eddystone Trust work all members of the community, while recognising that some groups and individuals may have additional needs that stand in the way of their sexual health and well-being, and who, therefore may find our services more useful. This has included Gay, Bisexual and MSM, members of the Queer community, people involved in transactional sex, young people,People with Learning Disabilities, and those from diverse communities.

Services we can offer include:

  • A free and confidential full sexual health check
