Devon Menopause Service

The Devon Menopause Service provides menopause care to NHS patients living in the county of Devon. The service is provided through Devon Sexual Health and the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Our team is British Menopause Society accredited.

We accept referrals from GPs for telephone or video consultations for complex menopause cases, we are also able to provide specific advice to GPs who are caring for those with less complex menopause needs.

If your GP needs more information about how to refer you to our service they can find it here.

We provide consultations for those with menopause who meet the following criteria:

  • Previous breast cancer
  • Previous gynaecological cancer
  • Other kinds of hormone dependant cancer
  • High risk of breast cancer due to BRCA or family history
  • Complex medical conditions that mean HRT may not be safe
  • Symptoms that continue despite HRT adjustments suggested by our advice service

We advise GPs about:

  • Symptoms that continue after trying two types of HRT
  • Medical conditions where the safety of HRT is unclear
  • Those experiencing menopause before the age of 40
  • Those who are experiencing bleeding issues on HRT

The Devon Menopause Service can be contacted via 01271 341568.

PLEASE NOTE: we do not accept self-referrals, we can only accept referrals from GPs.
