Your new sexual health website.

posted by: Don Leslie

Our aim is to provide sexual health services that support healthy relationships and sexual well-being for people who live in, or near, Devon.

That’s why our new website is based on feedback from people like you. People who use our services. People who enjoy a healthy sex-life. People who want to care for themselves and their partners. People, who want to find out more.

We’ve spent the last 12 months gathering views about what people want from our website. You asked for information about contraception; what the options are, which one will work best for you and where to get it from. You asked for information about what to do when things go wrong; symptoms, treatments and how to stay safe. You also asked if we could make it easier for you to find the services you need. Let us know what you think of what we’ve done so far.

Still to come is a webchat function that will allow you to ask questions on line and online appointment booking, which we hope to have ready later in the year.

We know it’s important for you to have the right information and advice, when you need it, in the most accessible and straightforward way possible. Whether you’re on a mobile, tablet or computer, you should still have a great experience. Releasing this Beta website enables us to test our ideas with you, so that we can get more feedback and keep on improving.  Over the next two months we’ll keep adding new pages as more become ready to share, so do keep coming back to see more improvements.

We want you to love our new site, so please tell us what you think by sending us your feedback via the banner at the top of the homepage.

Why have we changed our name?

Over the coming months we will be gradually changing the name and identity of our services from ‘the centre’ to ‘Devon Sexual Health’. Feedback from the general public, as well as people that use our services in Barnstaple, Exeter and Torbay, identified that this would make it easier and less confusing for people to find us. Together with our colleagues at sexual health in Plymouth (SHiP) we now provide sexual health services for everyone in Devon and we also wanted the name of the service to reflect this.
